Strategic Visioning
Potentials takes a systemic approach to strategic visioning. Working with a team of decision makers, Potentials guides group members to develop a strategic plan that is congruent with the organization's mission and values. The facilitator provides the mechanism for working through the issues, while supporting open communication, agreement and alignment.
While each planning process is designed to meet the specific needs of the organization, components include:
- Review of environmental factors that are influencing or could influence the business
- Identification of threats and opportunities emanating from the external environment, as well as key events or issues that must be managed
- Identification of key stakeholders, inside and outside the organization, and their expectations. Determination of opportunities for success
- Establishment of clear and compelling terms to describe what needs to be achieved in order to align plans with the organization's mission and values
- Determination of business goals that can serve as objective indicators of strategic success
- Analysis of the disparity between the current situation and that which is desired
- Creation of action plans, determining key areas in which results are critical
- Creation of a plan to generate commitment throughout the organization
- Determination of how to measure success and progress
